Mark your calendar for "AUTUMN DAYS" in LeClaire!
When the leaves start turning to fall colors, it's time for "AUTUMN DAYS" in LeClaire. Come see our Scarecrows that line Cody Road. There will be homemade pies, cookies and other yummy treats at our bake sale located at Dried n True. Come and enjoy our sidewalk sales, face painting, popcorn balls and live street entertainment. Mississippi Cottage will be hosting an Art Show and pumpkin painting. Artswork will be hosting a silk scarf painter, a jewelry artist and painter Caroline England. Wander down Cody Road to Penny Waters studio and you will find delicious caramel apples. Don't forget about the library book sale. All this is happening on October 10, 11 and 12!

"Where in LeClaire"
Participate in our "Where in LeClaire" Contest during "AUTUMN DAYS." Check out the LeClaire tabloid delivered with the October 9, 2008, edition of the Quad Cities Times to play "Where in LeClaire." If you match the architectural photos to right shops located in downtown LeClaire, you will be entered to win one of our great prizes, such as the Grand Prize including a Deluxe Whirlpool Luxury Suite at LeClaire's Comfort Inn, a Great River Tour on the Riversong for two, and two free entrees at the Faithful Pilot Restaurant. The Family Prize is a Happy Joes Gift Box, which contains $20 worth of Happy Joes Tokens, and a certificate for a large pizza and drinks.
River Pup to host greyhound "Meet and Greet"
On October 11, River Pup, the unique dog and cat boutique at 106 North Cody Road, will host a special "Meet and Greet" with greyhounds from the Quad Cities Greyhound Adoption group in Maysville from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. "We want to raise awareness of this great cause," said Kelly Kruck, owner of River Pup. "People in LeClaire that day will be able to come into our courtyard and meet the dogs. Besides raising money for this wonderful organization, we hope people will consider adopting a greyhound. Greyhounds are a great breed. Each one I've met is sweet, calm and affectionate. They are awesome dogs and they need loving homes." River Pup also plans several other promotions tied to the "Meet and Greet" during LeClaire's three-day "AUTUMN DAYS" weekend, including discounts for customers who have previously adopted a greyhound, "rounding up" of purchases to the nearest dollar with the extra money going to the greyhounds and a free gift to anyone who agrees to sponsor a crate at Quad Cities Greyhound Adoption.

"APPLE FESTIVAL" at the Welcome Center
The Mississippi Valley Welcome Center will present its annual "APPLE FESTIVAL" on Sunday, October 12. The area's apple vendors will be offering fresh samples of apples and cider along with selling specialty items including homemade apple pie. The year, the festival will feature different flavors of cider, caramel apples, apple treats and a hay rack full of pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn. Displays, demonstrations and entertainment will add to the day's activities including a chainsaw artist, hay rides, face painting and much more. The LeClaire Lion's Club will sell brats and hot dogs while the Lionesses will offer an assortment of tempting fresh-baked apple desserts.
WITCHES WALK set for October 25
Cody Road will become haunted as the LeClaire Shopkeepers' Marketing Alliance presents its annual "Witches Walk" on October 25, 2008, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids of all ages in their costumes are invited to walk up and down Cody Road. There will be costume judging, pumpkin painting, games, bags of candy and a "Witches' Cackle Contest."
LIGHT UP LECLAIRE on November 19-21
LeClaire's downtown shops and eateries invite you to enjoy leisurely evening shopping and dining in a festive setting on November 19, 20 and 21, 2008. The City of LeClaire will turn on its Holiday Lights at 5 p.m. on November 19 and LeClaire shops and eateries will be open until 8 p.m. each of the three nights. Join us to shop local and get your holiday shopping done early!
CHRISTMAS IN LECLAIRE scheduled for December 5-7
The charming village of LeClaire will be transformed into a scene from a Norman Rockwell painting with its delightful shopping, carriage rides, a crafts fair, silent auction and living Nativity Scene. "Christmas in LeClaire" is where Santa comes to shop.

The Deutsche Polka Band - A nine piece German band featuring two trumpets, two clarinets, baritone horn, brass bass, trombone, drums and vocalist. The band has a large selection of Polkas, Marches, Schottisches, and Waltzes. It also features a vocalist who adds a touch of America's Old Standards, including Wayne King, Irving Berlin, and German/American sing-a-longs.
