October 27th, 2007

Parade Route   We will begin and end at the pavilion on the levee.  The parade will travel north on the east side of Cody Rd cross over at The Artswork with police assistance and continue south on the west side of the street.  We will cross back over by Schwenke’s and follow the road to the pavilion.  We plan to break the line in half and have leaders guide both halves in opposite directions.  This will allow Cody Rd. to not be shut-down for as long and less congestion in the line.  Shopkeepers will be handing out candy along the route and we will provide treat bags for the kids. Both ends of Cody Rd. will have fire/police assistance for crossings.

Judging   Judging will take place at the pavilion on the levee at the time of registration or pre-registration packet pick-up beginning at 11:00 am to 12:30pm. This will allow winners to be announced as soon as the parade has returned to the pavilion.  Costumes will be judged on Originality, Creativity, Craftsmanship, and Presentation.  Back again this year is the prize awarded “Best Cackle” category.

Prizes          Cash prizes totaling $600 will be given in the following age categories as follows:

            Age 0-1

            Age 1-5

            Age 6-12

            Age 12-18

            Age Adult

Safety          We will have LeClaire Police and Fire assistance at all road and railroad crossings.  Traffic on Cody Rd will actually be stopped while the parade crosses from one side to the next.

Pre-Registration  Pre-Registration is strongly encouraged and you can either send this form in by mail to the address located at the bottom of this form, attach this form to an email and send to or register online at: Witches_Walk_Pre-Registration_Form.htm

We will have a DJ playing Halloween tunes (sponsored by Happy Joe’s) along with pumpkin painting (sponsored by Kiddie Karrasel) and many other activities!  Concessions will also be available at the pavilion sponsored by the Boy Scouts.

Additional Information   Participants do not have to be judged to participate in the parade.  No animals, bicycles, skateboards or roller skates will be allowed.  Exceptions will be made for handicapped only.
