Wisconsin Street and 35th Street Complete Reconstruction:
The City will be contracting work to be done over the next 2 years completely reconstructing Wisconsin Street from 26th Street west just past PVJH and also 35th Street from Wisconsin Street to Valley Drive. Utility/Easement work has already begun this summer. This major project will include culvert replacement, tearing out and replacing the existing road surface, and work on a sidewalk on the north side of Wisconsin Street. This will be a major project, with many moving parts - so watch for added information on staging of the project, temporary road closures and detours, construction equipment and barricades. The City has been and will continue to work with Pleasant Valley Community School District on the logistics of travel throughout this project. As mentioned - Utility work has already begun, Culvert work and Road work will begin Fall, 2021 and continue through late fall/winter, 2021 and will finish up by Fall, 2022. Thank you for your patience through this much needed improvement in our community! Watch this page for ongoing updates and pictures.
The City will be contracting the work for the total replacement of both the Territorial Road Bridge at 277th Avenue and the Territorial Road Bridge just to the east of 277th Avenue across from the Rock Quarry for 2022. Watch for more information about detours, timetable, and other construction details in the months ahead.
There will be a number of sections of downtown sidewalk and handicap egress areas that will be replaced most likely sometime in 2022. Watch for details on Iowa DOT timetable, plans, access during construction, etc... as this project develops.
