INFORMATION CONCERNING COVID-19

Coronavirus1

The City of LeClaire has been monitoring and continues to make necessary adjustments in our Departments and Facilities to help keep both LeClaire Residents and City Staff as safe as possible.  Given the Governor’s revised proclamation comments and following suit with other neighboring communities intended actions, some City Departments/Areas will begin to "Open Up" beginning Monday, June 1  2020.

LeClaire City Hall - Beginning Monday, June 1  2020, LeClaire City Hall will be opening and allowing limited (50% capacity or less) public entry to the building while observing increased safety and hygienic practices and personal spacing requirements.  Council meetings and Committee meetings will resume and will be held as normal providing sufficient room and spacing area is available.  Please feel free to call City Hall at (563) 289-4242, or email the City Administrator at: echoate@leclaireiowa.gov  with your questions or concerns as needed.  Remember you can also sign up to pay your LeClaire Utility Bills ONLINE by clicking on the following link:   LeClaire Utility Bill Online Payment Signup

LeClaire Community Library - Curbside Pickup began May 11 for LeClaire Library cardholders and LeClaire Library items only.  Call the library at 563-289-6007 to place holds and arrange for pickup, or use the online catalog.  If you have pending holds, change the pickup branch to LeClaire.  Holds are limited to 10 items.  They will answer phones from 10am to 4pm, and curbside pickup between 11am to 3pm (Monday-Friday).  Park on Wisconsin Street, remain in your vehicle and phone 563-289-6007 when you arrive.  All returns must use the bookdrop.  Beginning Monday, June 1  2020, the LeClaire Library will be OPENING and allowing limited (50% capacity or less) public entry into the building while observing increased safety and hygenic practices and personal spacing requirements.  The community room WILL NOT be rented out or opened for general use yet..  For more information concerning library programs, online resources, scheduling, etc... click on the following link:  LeClaire Library link  and visit the LeClaire Library facebook page.

LeClaire Police Department -  In an effort to protect our Police, Firefighters, and Medics, we ask that if you call 911 for any reason, please let the dispatchers know if you are experiencing any flu like symptoms.  Thank you!

Beginning Monday, June 1  2020, the Police Department will continue to conduct operations and allow public access to the facilities as normal.  Our front desk will still be staffed during normal business hours and officers will still be on duty 24/7. Officers will be responding to all calls for service like normal.  However, we will be doing our best to maintain a safe distance when at all possible.  We would like to remind our residents that there should be nobody going door to door talking to you about COVID-19 or offering “free testing” for the virus. If someone comes to your door wanting to discuss these things, do not let them in and immediately call 911 so that police can respond and handle the situation. So far there have been no reports of this in LeClaire, however, we have heard of similar scams going on nearby. Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

LeClaire Fire Department - In an effort to protect our Firefighters, Police, and Medics, we ask that if you call 911 for any reason, please let the dispatchers know if you are experiencing any flu like symptoms.  Thank you!

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, LCFD will be taking the following actions to maintain operations until things subsides. We are following the direction and information set by the City of LeClaire, State of Iowa, CDC, Iowa Department of Public Health, Scott County Health Department and QC COVID-19 Coalition.  We must maintain the responsiveness of LCFD for day to day emergencies and operations during these times.

  · All Fire Department Community Room reservations are still postponed until further notice.

LeClaire Rec Center and Weight Room - The LeClaire Rec Center and Weight Room will remain CLOSED until further notice. The City cannot sufficiently monitor nor maintain sufficient hygene to make these safe environments for use by the general public. Once it is safe to reopen, we will work on extending dates for use.  If you have any further questions, please contact City Hall (563) 289-4242.

LeClaire Parks, Levee, and Recreation -  Beginning Monday, June 1  2020, ALL PARK PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT (HUCKLEBERRY PARK, HOLLYHOCK PARK, AND SCOUT PARK), BALLFIELDS, SKATEPARK, PAVILIONS (PARK AND LEVEE) WILL BE OPENED FOR GENERAL PUBLIC USE, providing that individually and personally monitored, increased safety and hygenic practices and personal spacing requirements are observed and not abused.  The Levee PUBLIC RESTROOMS will tentatively be opened up.  Watch for additional information, cancellations, and rescheduling dates on this page.

LeClaire Tourist Information Center - Beginning Monday, June 1  2020, the LeClaire Information Center will be open and allowing limited (50% capacity or less) public entry to the building while observing increased safety and hygenic practices and personal spacing requirements.

 • Baby wipes
 • Cleaning wipes
 • Paper towels

Flushing these items can result in a sewer backup.  For additional reminders, click on the following link:   Avoid Sewer Backups
