  1. Emergency Responder Training on Mississippi River - North Levee Closed to Public

    September 14, 2022, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM

On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, the US Coast Guard and Port Security Office, in conjunction with area emergency responders, will conduct training in the main channel of the Mississippi River, south of the I-80 Bridge. Staging and boat launches will take place on the north side of the levee in LeClaire and the parking lot will be closed to the public between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm. The scenario will include simulation of a large scale, mass casualty incident on a river cruise ship with an active shooter threat onboard a river vessel. The morning will consist of training rotations for crews to practice attacking and boarding a vessel, sweeping and clearing with RTF teams, and extricating patients off the target vessel and onto boats. The afternoon will consist of two full scale scenarios starting from call page out all the way through to the hospital receiving and caring for patients.
